ABOUT ME
Hi! I am an exercise and rehab focused chiropractor practicing in Sooke and the Westshore. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll usually find me outdoors—at the beach, on a trail, or out for a walk with my dog (who I’m admittedly a little obsessed with).
Before becoming a chiropractor, I spent 15 years dancing and later teaching dance while completing my undergraduate degree in psychology. My original plan was to pursue a career in mental health, but along the way I discovered manual therapy and chiropractic care—and quickly realized it was the perfect fit. It allowed me to combine my interest in movement, the human body, and helping people feel their best in a hands-on, meaningful way.
My background in psychology and years of experience as a support worker have had a strong influence on how I practice today. I’ve worked closely with individuals with brain and spinal cord injuries, ADHD, and autism, and I have a special interest in supporting neurodivergent patients. I strive to create a space that feels safe, collaborative, and tailored to each individual’s needs.
I completed my chiropractic training in Portland, Oregon, before returning home to Vancouver Island to begin practicing. It’s been incredibly rewarding to come full circle and care for the community I’ve always called home.
Outside of work, I’m always chasing a good playlist (new or old), checking out live music or stand-up comedy with my partner, or winding down with a great movie or book. I also love staying active through yoga and lifting, trying new foods, and traveling whenever I get the chance. Ireland, Iceland, and Italy are at the top of my bucket list right now!
At the heart of my work is a simple goal: to help people move and feel their best and get back to doing the things they love.
MY APPROACH
My approach to chiropractic care is rooted in one simple idea: no two people are the same—so their care shouldn’t be either.
I take an evidence-informed and trauma-informed approach, creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely heard. Whether you’re coming in with a new injury, a long-standing concern, or just want to move and feel better in your day-to-day life, your experiences, goals, and comfort level will always guide the process.
Care is always person-centred. That means I consider the full picture—your background, lifestyle, occupation, health history, and what matters most to you—before building a plan together. There’s no one-size-fits-all treatment here.
Education is a big part of how I work. I want you to understand what’s going on in your body and feel confident in how to support it outside of the clinic. My goal is to empower you with the tools and knowledge you need—not to create dependence on ongoing care.
Treatment is always individualized and collaborative. I use a variety of techniques and tools so we can find what works best for you, including exercise and movement-based therapy, soft tissue work, myofascial release, gentle adjustments and mobilizations, and cupping therapy.
At the end of the day, my focus is helping you move better, feel stronger, and get back to doing the things you love—whether that’s hiking local trails, playing a competitive sport, chasing your grandkids around, or simply feeling more comfortable and confident in your body.
PS. Meet Basil! My happy golden lab who I will most likely talk about during our session together.
